Re: Learning CPTSD - lived experience
Hi @Appleblossom @-Liz- @Wanderer @Isabelle @Shaz51 good to see this thread and that you are hearing and supporting each other.
I also have complex PTSD (on top of bipolar 1) and share a lot of your experiences. I've had a difficult week so haven't a lot of words today but want you to know I've seen your posts and send caring wishes. When I am able to I'll try to respond in more depth.

Re: Learning CPTSD - lived experience
Hi @-Liz- , I'm sorry you're struggling a lot. I also have PTSD, so I sort of understand to a certain extent (I won't say I understand completely because I don't). For me personally I get flashbacks (like videos, during the day too but mostly at night), and nightmares, once again mostly at night. I also see scary images randomly in my head too and try to avoid places, people, anything that reminds me of certain traumatic times, so for example, school, hospital, etc.
I'm sorry you feel estranged from your family, I don't know the situation there but I guess it's their loss, you're not any less of a person (neither is anyone here) because of your diagnoseses.
I realise that my comment probably won't help, but you're not alone. Take care.
